Milepost

Privacy policy

Last updated 18 August 2026

Milepost does not collect anything. There is no account, no server and no analytics. Your children's names, birthdays and schools are stored on your device and are never sent anywhere.

What Milepost stores

Everything you enter stays in the app's own database on your iPhone:

ChildrenNames, dates of birth, chosen colours, and the school and board you optionally select
CalendarEvents you create and who they are for
ListsList names and items
ProgressWhich timeline items you have marked as done

This is included in your iPhone's own encrypted backup if you use iCloud Backup or a local backup. That is Apple's backup, not ours, and we cannot read it. Deleting the app deletes the data.

What Milepost sends

Nothing. The directory of Ontario schools ships inside the app, so choosing a school makes no network request. Milepost does not contact any server while you use it.

The only time the app causes a request is when you tap a link to a government or school board website. That opens in your browser, and from that point the destination site's own privacy policy applies.

Notifications

If you turn on deadline reminders, iOS schedules them locally on your device. No push server is involved and no notification content leaves the phone.

Children's data

Milepost is a tool for parents and is not directed at children. What you record about a child stays on your device under your control.

Third parties

Milepost contains no advertising, no analytics and no third-party trackers of any kind.

Where the school data comes from

The bundled school directory is derived from the Ontario Ministry of Education's publicly funded schools list, published on data.ontario.ca under the Open Government Licence – Ontario. It contains no personal information.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version appears here and the date above changes with it.
